Impressions

Beautiful location, characteristic room, delicious breakfast, perfect view(s), very kind and interested host (and staff), we can go all day with this. To summarize; we felt like royalties for the length of our stay.

The warm welcome of Ian, our host, his presence was discreet and efficient to inform us about the region, the walks to do etc… The place, a house full of charm, located in a remote place but a real haven of peace and serenity, with as a bonus the end of the day at the corner of a good fire. The beautiful area, lakes, mountains, suitable for hiking. Scottish breakfasts, meals excellently cooked. In summary, the highlight of our (too brief) stay in Scotland.

This is such a lovely property. If you love the outdoors and walking then this is a perfect place to stay. Great home cooked food shared with the other guests was a highlight for us. Reading by the open fire fantastic with a nice pot of tea was so homely. Highly recommend this property. We will come back!

The reception was more than top. The car got stuck in the rain and our clumsiness. No problem at all. After trying in the pouring rain, we got tea by the fireplace. After half an hour, our host had everything ready to release the car. Our host knew a lot about history and the environment. Because it’s a little remote, you can have dinner. Choose from 3 regional dishes, also cosy by the fireplace. Room top clear. Delicious casual and we felt very welcome. The area is great for hiking, also for the less experienced hiker.

Ian very kind and helpful. Right on walking path by north Esk river on route to Queens Well, Mount Keen and set in pine trees, floral vines, with sheep and n.g. hens zooming around. Sunny. Lovely Dining room with linen, china, good food. Our room was a haven of quiet and antiques with a clean well cared for modern bathroom.
